about

The inspiration for this song started on a backpacking trip deep in the Eastern Sierras a few years ago... Valhalla, Hamilton Lake... on a good dose of "medicine".

The veins of water spilling into her and out of her... or pulling into her.. hard to say. The relationship of time and space.. the eternal flow undeniable. Pillars of the Gods were the massive cathedrals of rocks .. looming over being impossibly epic. No picture can explain the feeling and the intensity and the irrefutable truth of that sacred place.

All this beauty.. echoing our own beauty and ability to witness and be witnessed.

And all the patterns passed on from generation to generation.. like a river too. The beauty and the pain.

And when you love someone who's lost then found then lost then found, .. the desperation, the hope, the hopelessness.. the deep yearning to heal and reclaim what the others before us did not...

Are many too weak to heal from addiction? ... indulging folding into the endless array of impulses and cravings of the moment. To cover up the pain passed on from story to story on down the line.

Those who are willing to heal, cannot do it alone. We are interconnected.. like nature, not in a vacuum.

The condition of our world, inside, outside.. regurgitating pain or peeling the layers off to freedom, to transformation, to liberation.

This is love.

lyrics

HAMILTON LAKE
Trippin deep
By a creek
Spilling out
Hamilton Lake

All the ages
All the phases
Never ending
Eternal Flow....

Trippin deep
By a creek
Spilling out
Hamilton Lake

All the ages
All the phases
Never ending
Eternal Flow....

Let me tell you what love is....

It's a bear, it's a bear
It's your graying hair
Crumble go the pieces of the giants
Of the ancient ones

When you asked me to save you
Sweet stowaway
Humbled on your knees
Falling free, toward the One still light

You could meet me
We could meet her
Like the dance we did with Jimmy upstairs in The Barn
Twisted are the veins
Falling down, pulling into her
Valhalla, take me FORWARD, take me BACK
Take me into
NOW
You tell me what Love is...

Trippin deep
By a creek
spilling out
Hamilton Lake
