I sung/recorded the vocal to this little piece under my beloved giant Sycamore tree. one of my power spots. (pic here shows this special zone).

Santa Barbara was having another massive fire nearby and there was talk of evacuation. I was lucky the last 3 times. The fire didn't reach my land, but very, very close. this one didn't burn too much. they doused it before it could cause much death.

But with threatening fires like this, the question is always.. what will I take? what will I let burn? strangely, calmly, I was ready for everything to burn. a rebirth of sorts.

instead of packing my car and fleeing, I took my laptop down to my special spot under the grand Sycamore tree and sang the track to this little piece. I could hear the horses next store freaking out and the energy of people on the highway.. frantic. The wind was picking up, the birds talking to each other busily, smokey air, ashes falling....

Somehow I was in the center of it all. Calm witness. Immensely enjoying the present moment.

anyway, love this little piece. the love story of it. and the recording.. captures a moment in time.

LISTEN for the birds perfectly echoing my line at the end of the song. gorgeous magic!
